How to travel from Delhi to Kedarnath

Step 1: Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh by Train: The journey starts with taking a train from Delhi to either Haridwar or Rishikesh, which are well-connected cities in Uttarakhand. Both Haridwar and Rishikesh have railway stations, and multiple trains run daily between Delhi and these destinations. The train journey from Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh takes around 4 to 6 hours, depending on the train chosen.

Step 2: Haridwar/Rishikesh to Gaurikund by Road: From Haridwar or Rishikesh, travelers can hire a taxi or take a shared cab or bus to reach Gaurikund. Gaurikund is the base camp for the Kedarnath trek and is about 200-250 kilometers from Haridwar or Rishikesh. The road journey takes approximately 7 to 9 hours, considering the hilly terrain.
